March blog
We have been making plans for the coming year. I have been talking with people from other areas and are hoping to bring the Support and Social groups to Old Harlow in addition to Potter Street, when restrictions are lifted. We are also planning some fundraising events, the first being a Jumble sale. We were lucky to be able to do this last year and it was a great success. We had lots of stalls with jumble and a few stalls with fudge, sweet gifts, homewares and crystals. We also had a lovely volunteer offering massages for a donation and cakes and drinks on sale. It was a lovely day and bought the community together after the first lockdown. With the jumble and raffle, we managed to raise over £1000, which goes along way to help pay for the hall and all the hidden costs to make the groups possible.
I am updating the Facebook page/group daily with quotes and tips to help with wellbeing. Please feel free to message the page or call me, we are still available to offer help and advice. I run meditation groups also, which is a great way to unwind. I am currently offering this over zoom on a donation basis, with all proceeds going into the groups funding. This can be found via the Facebook page @angelwings143777. Its also a great way to connect to others, as we have a little chat after too, you are welcome to have your camera off and just listen to the meditation, as it is a great way to relax and start changing your mindset. All donations are via PayPal butterflyeffectwellbeing@yahoo.com. Please leave your name/email address, I can then send you the zoom link.
Breath work is also greatly beneficial. When your body is operating under “fight or flight” response or stress, it releases a surge of hormones that causes your breathing to speed up, increases your pulse and blood pressure and puts you in a state of hypervigilance. Deep breathing can help reverse this response and relax your body. It can help calm and slow emotional turbulence in your mind, also helps to treat depression, anxiety and PTSD. Try some of the exercises I have included.
Hopefully get to see you in the physical very soon. Thank you for your continued support Angie X
